Let's Share a Story: Love Tales.

This Personal project of mine was done during February. Because it was February and Valentine's day was coming up, I got couples together into the studio to take their picture and love story.

"On a cold winter night in a crowded night club, who would have thought I would meet my one and only. There he was standing, the man that could dance all night. He asked me to dance and that is where it all began, mesmerized with one another, love at first sight. That was seven years ago and even though we have been through ups and downs we have a love that is like a romance novel.  On our one year anniversary our love blossomed. We were also blessed with the news that we were expecting. As most new to be parents we were filled with a great sense of joy. Unfortunately those were not Gods plans for us. He decided that our son would love us and bless us more from Heaven. As much as it hurt we pulled our love together and learned to accept that decision and just become that much stronger and more in love.  There’s nothing more beautiful than building a relationship from the bottom. We have a loving home, but more importantly we have found love in each other’s arms. We have traveled to many states and kissed to leave our mark of love. Six years later, we decided to formalize our love with marriage.  Never give up on love. Be the best version of you, because when you least expect it you will meet “the one”, like we did. Love is around the corner and sometimes we seek so much that we miss the one. Let love find you, it can be in a grocery store, work or at the club, where we found our love without even looking."

Adiel and Rob started dating in January of 2013 but they had known each other for much longer. They started working for the same company back in 2008 and the first time they met was at that company’s new hire orientation. They didn’t see much of each other after that, since they worked at different locations. When they did run into each other at company events they would share a friendly greeting, but nothing more than that. In December of 2012 Adiel and Rob had been invited to the same Christmas party. They finally got a chance to know each other and exchanged phone numbers that night—the two started dating shortly after. Adiel and Rob both share a strong work ethic and the two of them are always striving for the best. In the four years that this couple has been together they have shared many of life’s milestones both big and small. Together they have attended each other’s college graduations, celebrated several career achievements, and just last winter purchased their first home. In their off time these two like to travel to new and exciting destinations, experience different cuisines, and enjoy spending time with their friends and family especially their dog Luna. Adiel and Rob like to make the most of life and try to create new memories that they can look back on. The two couldn’t be happier that they have one another in their lives and hope to get married in the near future.

Jackie- "I was never the kind of girl that wanted love or believed in it for that matter. I always said that my heart/soul matched the color of my nails, black. That was until 7-4-14, the day that you have already read all about it. Was that day all that and a bag of chips? You better believe it was. That’s the day that I had secretly hoped for, the day I would meet the guy that would give me hope, the hope to love. I was introduced to the guy worth waiting for, the guy that actually wants to talk to you, cares about your opinions, and how your day was. The guy that you only hear about in the movies, as cliché as that sounds. Gabriel, that’s the name of the guy that I love so very much so two years and five months later. Gabriel, the one with the gentlest heart and loving eyes, the one who makes everything better with his gorgeous smile. He’s the most beautiful man I’ve ever laid eyes on. The guy that treats my family like his own and the guy who has become the best friend of my best friends. Gabriel, the man that I will one day be lucky to call my husband."

Gabriel-"In your lifetime, there are dates you will never forget. Dates so profound they have changed you for better or worse. 7-4-14 is a date that has given me the absolute best. It is the day I met the love of my life. It’s a memory so vivid I can remember it like it was yesterday. It begins on a Friday night, I was asked to come out and meet this girl my brother had acquainted himself with. I was very hesitant at first, going to house parties wasn't quite my scene, and I thought "if this girl loved going to these house parties then she might be a little too ratchet". But there was just this overwhelming feeling that I would regret not going. I'm sure as hell happy I followed my instincts because the second I saw that car she was in pull up next to me, the window roll down, and her face appear, I knew tonight, this date, was going to be one I would never forget. We introduced ourselves, "Hi, I'm Jackie, you're super sexy" she said. My memory is a little hazy so she might not have said that exactly but it was pretty close. I was dying for a drink, after all we were at a party! Celebrating the Americas birthday, no less! I saw that Jackie had a case of beers with her so I asked for one. Her eyes peered at me with such disgust, as if I had asked her to do inappropriate things right then and there, this girl really loved her alcohol back in the day, luckily, she found Jesus now haha jk. She reluctantly handed me the beer, other than that slight awkwardness the rest of the night was magical. We danced, we talked, we laughed, it was a blast. And the highlight of it all came when I gathered the courage to look her in the eyes and with a very timid voice I said "is it okay if I kiss you?". By the grace of God, she said "yes" with a smile, and with that kiss began my obsession with her, it kicked off what would become one of my greatest accomplishments, being her lover.  It was a difficult road leading up to that night, but I'm glad it was a difficult one because it made the lesson clearer. The lesson that the second I met Jackie, I was meant to love her as much as I can, for as long as I can, and I can never stop loving her, not even for a second and I will continue to carry that lesson with me. I thank God, every God there is, or ever was, or ever will be, that I had the courage to go out the night of 7-4-14, because not only was it the birth of our nation, but the birth of our relationship. And through that I have had the best experiences of my life, and have met the best people in the world through her, and I can never take that for granted."

Lauren: "If you were to ask me my favorite thing about Reyna there would be too many to name. I've always grown up hearing the words that "love is never easy". After meeting your soulmate I would have to disagree. Loving Reyna is the most natural, beautiful thing I've ever endured in life. Seeing her smile and the way she can't pronounce words in English grammatically correct, are enough for anyone to laugh and say "it doesn't matter because at the end of the day I have you". To me there is nothing more perfect than the imperfect person that I chose to love everyday. Life may not be easy but if you have the right person next to you it makes it all worth while."

Reyna: "My mother always told my sister and I that a prayer has so much power that God is always there for us and everything we ask for he will listen. I have always been a hopeless romantic I guess because ever since my teens there was always a discussion in my prayer and it was for a love so pure, for a girl to love me as much as I love her, for a girl that I can marry and be in love with forever, who I can start a family with, who shares the same dreams as me, to share my sadness, my concerns , my happiness, my craziness, my laughs, my rough moments, a girl I can grow old with and laugh at our journey together. My prayers were answered and on a beautiful day in May 2012 I found the girl of my prayers she was beautiful inside and out, with eyes that light up the whole room, a smile so contagious that made it hard to breath my beautiful Lauren. Every single day with her is an adventure, full of fun, full of kisses, full of her. La amo con todo mi Corazon she's the best mom to our fur kids, the best girlfriend in the whole world, the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with."

"I was working part-time at McDonald's with like my whole family haha... My sister Marielis, uncle Jorge and aunt Elaine. A few nights a week he would come in and order his usual, a Big Mac with tomato (with fries & a drink) on some occasions he would come in holding a red helmet. At the time I had this thing for guys on bikes; so hot! I would tell my friends and family how cute this guy was and how he had a red bike. We would always watch him ride away when he left and after a few more visits my aunt Elaine told me to ask him for a ride on his bike but I refused telling her he was too cute to be single. She insisted I would never know unless I asked but I still refused.  One evening he came in and my aunt Elaine said she was going to ask him for me... I hide by the drive thru with embarrassment when she asked him if he could give me a ride on his bike he responded with "yeah but I don't have an extra helmet on me today but I can call her to take her out on a ride" and I said "I didn't have anything to write it on" Elaine pulls up a piece of receipt paper from the register and I say that I don't have a pen, so she pulls one from behind her ear and just writes down my number and gives it to him and says "hear u go, call her when u can give her a ride". After he leaves I tell everyone he's not gonna call so I won't hold my breath. Two days later he called and we made plans and went on our first date; dinner and a movie but still no ride on the bike. I didn't even get that bike ride till almost a month later and when I finally did, he said I was the worst passenger he's ever had hahaha. I quickly learned to be a good passenger and we've been riding this journey of love ever since

"Between laughs we remember our first awkward date, that summer afternoon made it clear for us, we knew we were right for each other. We started a long and difficult journey, in which we had to face coming out from the shadows, letting the world know that love has no gender. Two young men that decided to walk together to build a life upon dreams and goals, fighting each day to remain focused and always enjoying life as it is. Now, five years later, we can confirm that we made the right decision. The spark that started the fire of love became stronger and stronger each day, and continues to give light to our lives as we move forward on the road of life."

Ivan & Marcela met at hair salon on Newbury St. March 20 2007. The day that changed both their lives forever. He came in for his normal haircut cut by his mom. Marcela & she worked together and were good friends.  Ivan usually went to his mom’s house to get the haircut but he heard few good things about Marcela from his mom and wanted see if the HYPE was REAL.  When he got there he was a little showoff, taking his sweater off so Marcela could see his muscles with basketball jersey he had on. To break the ice, Ivan knew Marcela had a doggie and he had a English bulldog, so Ivan went in with the pics of his doggie Chulo. Thinking she would love it. Of course it worked. After flirting and saying hi, Ivan got his haircut & left. Later that night Ivan text Marcela asking her out that Friday, he got the number through his mom because he was to shy to ask.  Marcela had plans to go on adventure to the mountains in NH with friends but decided to go out with him instead (At time didn’t know it was going be a life changing decision). Ivan drove from Norwood to Lynn, on his way he got in car accident but that didn’t stop him from canceling the date even though she insisted after she heard about the accident. Ivan was like "no, I was looking forward to this date" 1st Spanish girl her ever asked out. Once he got there he had a dozen red roses for Marcela. He took her out for dinner & drinks.  Ivan's best friend happen to be there and met Marcela. When Marcela went to the bathroom, Ivan’s friend came and told him “She Was the One” Ivan laughed it off and took it as joke. "Snap 10 years later that was no joke. Since that day we have been together. We got married April 20 2013. In March will be 10 years together, we have 4 beautiful pets. Definitely love at first sight

"It all started as a game; beautiful words and many compliments. Then this turned into long conversations and invitations to go out. Then we finally agreed on a date, how can we forget the first time we went out to a club. That's the night we first heard our song (Frankie Ruiz - Bailando). We have been dancing for five years after that song - with ups and downs but always remembering to love, understand, support and respect each other. And to this day, we hold together by working towards our dreams. Each time we achieve these, we are able to look each other in the eyes with fulfillment, ready to plant more dreams knowing that with the help of God we will accomplish them because up to this date he has proven to always be by our side."

"We met back in high school. This month we'll be celebrating 11 years together. We've been married for 5 and have a one year old. It wasn't all smooth sailing though. According to most, it wasn't supposed to last. How could we blame people for believing that? We came from different countries, had different native languages, different traditions, and different religious backgrounds. However, rules that aren't meant to unite us, that aren't meant to build us up as human beings, are meant to be broken."

“I proposed to my now wife on Dec. 24, and I remember what she told me on that day “I can’t gain weight now, because I need to look perfect on my wedding day.”  3 Days later we found out that she was pregnant. Here we were, trying to plan for a wedding and get ready for the arrival of our baby. At first we were going to push everything back, but then we realized that in life not everything goes as planned, and to be able to be truly happy we have to learn to adapt, and believe that at the end everything will work out. Here we are together, married, with a beautiful son, a beautiful daughter/step daughter and with many more dreams to reach. We believe that our relationship is not perfect, that our love is more than just an emotion, it’s a commitment to each other, no matter what happens we will put all our efforts in making our relationship as perfect as it can be. Sometimes... that’s more than enough.”
